Beet & Goat Cheese Salad for Stability in One's Relationship | Sara's Kitchen Witchcraft
Not all love magic has to be just for getting a fun romance. It's for keeping it stable, too.

Another love spell recipe?
But of course.
This time, this recipe has me thinking of love only because I got something very similar to it while on a date with my husband recently, and it was so damn good that I wanted to try it again at home. At the restaurant, I had it with some delicious medallions of rare steak, but steak isn't something I do at home these days with the prices of beef, so we'll have to do something else when it comes to that—and what better way to call back last time's love spell dish than with some apple chicken sausage?
I got the dressing idea from Wise Recipes, but other than that, I spawned this one based on a cursory glance of other recipes and memory of that delicious dish I had weeks ago. Anyway, we're looking at the apple, beet, honey, nutmeg, and maple for today's magic, so let's get into it.
Magic in Beet & Goat Cheese Salad
In the few dishes I've made with beets, I've been truly enamored with them, because when you peel those suckers, they look like beautiful chunks of polished garnet. However, they can also look (and certainly stain your hands) like a heart ripped right from a chest, and if that isn't the perfect sympathetic magic item to use in a love spell, I don't know what is. Honestly, you could imagine two of these beets as the heart of you and your partner, and ensure that you get some of each other's "heart" into each other's plates, so as to signify y'all sharing that flesh between each other and creating a bond there. Add a new star, maple (via maple syrup), and you've also got the generations of associations with maple trees as a source of sweetness, joy, strength, and reliability.
Now, when dealing with love, we’re specifically dealing with the type that comes around in the Seventh House of astrology: the long lasting type that is concerned with the assets shared between two people. All that Jupiter, with Saturn, Venus, and the Sun to support that expansive planet, will not only help create opportunities for finding luck with and in love, but will also help you navigate the relationship that develops after, and the allocation of resources that come with finding a long term partner. Moreover, with all elements represented here (and tipping towards fire), this is a great recipe to help keep your love balanced, stable, and open, but never boring.
Beet & Goat Cheese Salad
Prep time: 15 min
Cook Time: 60 min
Makes 3-4 servings
Ingredients:
Salad:
3-4 beets, peeled and cubed
1 apple, peeled & cubed
1 sweet onion, roughly chopped
½ cup chopped walnuts
3-4 links of sweet apple sausage
4-6oz honey goat cheese
10oz spring mix greens
Dressing:
2 Tbsp maple syrup
2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 Tbsp dijon or honey mustard
½ Tbsp garlic powder
¼ tsp nutmeg
1 oz olive oil
Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Peel, cube, and bake the beets at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour, or until soft.
Carmelize the onion in butter until soft and jammy, then add to a bowl with lettuce when cooled enough not to wilt it.
Slice and fry your sausages in a pan, then add to the bowl.
Mix your dressing ingredients.
Toast walnuts in a pan until fragrant, then add to the bowl
Crumble your goat cheese in, then add beets when they’ve cooled enough.
Add dressing over top, mix, and serve.
When it comes to root vegetables, there's just something about them, y'know? Sweet, hearty, and perfect on top of things like salad or as a side. I love this dish, and I hope you do too! ♥
